Spring Heralds New Guidebook and Web Design

May 7, 2008 · Print This Article

A sure sign of spring on the West Coast is the release of a new guidebook from Jack and Louise Christie. Best Weekend Getaways from Vancouver is the latest addition to our family brand and joins The Whistler Book and 52 Best Day Trips from Vancouver to form a harmonious trio.

Timed to coincide with the debut of our new book is the completely redesigned Web site you’re viewing. Poke around. Like any construction site there are still a few loose ends to tie up. And plenty more content to post.

One of the creative new features to watch for is “Where Are Jack and Louise?” — an on-going series of video clips which we began shooting in early April on the banks of Venice’s Grand Canal. Coming soon.

Dive in. Check out the bookshelf. Watch a video feature on gap master Ryan Leech. Catch up on our latest Outside columns. Find inspiration in the photo gallery. Email us your feedback and questions.

Come back again soon for a wide range of road-tested tips for adventuring throughout southwestern B.C., including the Sunshine Coast, Southern Gulf Islands, southern Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan Valley. Uncover hidden gems of information on cycling, walking, picnicking, swimming, paddling, as well as spas, festivals, bakeries, farmers markets, fresh-squeezed margaritas, plus heavenly places to rest your head.

Whatever you do, wherever you go, remember: Take it easy, but take it.

    Hi Jack and Louise,
I’m never good on websites, too many tunnels to venture down etccc, but I enjoyed yours, and the video of Ryan.
Congratulations on the new addition to the collection!
    Ruth

Hey Jack & Louise – congrats on a mighty fine looking website, now on my bookmarks toolbar for easy reference. Really, I’m way impressed and just sent your link to our publisher so he can how good a site can look.

Oh, yeah, the content – as good as the look. Your love of outdoor journalism shines right through.
